Swan Reach Primary School is a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program accredited school. The Stephanie Alexander program is ran by a trained specialist and is supported by community volunteers each week to deliver lessons on nutrition, seasonal produce and cooking. The large kitchen boasts four custom-built student cooking stations. The school has extensive vegetable gardens that are established and maintained by students in the gardening program. Students learn about growing and harvesting seasonal produce, composting and caring for the gardens. The produce that is grown is showcased in the cooking program or sold by the students to the school community, with the money from sales used to further develop the gardens.
